Retail sickness!
I've been buying books like a maniac lately. Given the unbearable amount of reading I must do for school before the semester is over, I really don't know what the hell I'm thinking with all the book hoarding. I enjoy it immensely...don't get me wrong...but I won't get to read any of them until I'm 32 or so. I would say I'd read some during summer, but I'm taking 3-4 classes. So, not so much.
Anyway, I picked up the following at Half-Price books yesterday:
Zombie, by Joyce Carol Oates
Heroes and Villains, by Angela Carter
Bet Me, by Jennifer Crusie (hardback, for my keeper collection)
Manhunting, Crusie
Tell Me Lies, Crusie
The Complete Stories of Zora Neale Hurston
I'm reading Call it Sleep, by Henry Roth, for my Modern American Lit. class right now and really enjoying it. It's a 400-page monster, which concerns me a bit given the fact that I need to write an annotated bibliography this weekend, but I hope to still be able to finish it.
If I had my way and could read anything I wanted right now I'd pick up....
The Human Stain, Philip Roth
Eleven Minutes, Paulo Coehlo
The Amber Spyglass, Philip Pullman
*Singing*..."Dream a little dream for meeeee...."
