Mary Roach Interview
I read Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers a few years ago after I gave it to my mother for Mother's Day. I may well be the only person on earth who gives her mother a book about corpses for Mother's Day, but she loved it, so be it. I enjoyed Roach's conversational, humorous writing style because, given such an...umm....interesting? touchy? gross? topic..it struck me as appropriate to use such a writing style. While she's humorous, you never get the feeling she's being disrespectful to her subject matter. Interesting balance...interesting book.
Roach has since written another book entitled Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife. I haven't read it yet, but it's high on the "want" list.

ooohhh I love me some Mary Roach. I read this interview. She's hilarious. I've been meaning to read Roach's Spook, even took it to the mtns with me but I don't know if I'm ready yet. Will soon though!
Are you in the mountains as we speak or already back home?? I wish I was in the mountains. lol
Take some time then get to Spook. I can understand having to wait a while on that one.
Hi Andi - thanks for stopping by my blog. I love "meeting" other bookworms out there. And, you have to read "Spook". I just finished it and was quite impressed. I didn't think it was going to be so witty. I'll have to look for Stiff now.
Iliana,
Her wit is what impressed me most! Definitely try to get hold of Stiff. :)
